Billie, you’re obviously the shining star of the family. What does your perfect day look like? What are the three things that make your day absolutely amazing? Is it a long walk, cuddles with your humans, or maybe a tasty treat?

My perfect day always starts with a warm ‘good morning cuddle’ for both my humans, lasting at least a minute. Then, I enjoy a tasty breakfast from my beautiful Pawness slow feeder. In the afternoon, I look forward to a long walk or a play session with the ball in the park outside. At the end of the day, we cosy up together on the couch, and I enjoy my favourite bone.

You live with a cat… tell us honestly: are you best friends, or is there a secret rivalry? Are there moments when you snuggle together on the couch? Or does an exciting chase through the house happen occasionally?

I live with two British Shorthair cats, Tommy and James. They’re incredibly sweet to me, and I must admit I can be a bit impatient sometimes. I would love to play with them, but unfortunately, at 13 years old, they’re a bit too old for too much action. When we’re all tired, we cosy up together on the couch.

Patty, why did you choose a Labradoodle back then? Was it love at first sight? Or did you do thorough research before Billie came to live with you?

Friends of ours also have a Labradoodle and have fallen in love with the breed since then. During our first visit, we got to cuddle with all ten puppies and could give our top three preferences – an impossible choice. But Billie was the first to come to us and started challenging Bas like a little dragon. From that moment on, we were completely in love and so grateful that she’s with us now.

What’s the funniest or craziest thing Billie has ever done? Every dog has their quirks. Has Billie ever been in a bizarre situation that still makes you laugh?

Billie can really be a dragon sometimes. When she was still a puppy, she pulled the wallpaper off the walls, even though it had only been up for six months! Additionally, plasterwork seems to be a delicacy for her, as we have her teeth marks in various places. And the TV remote was her favourite since we had to replace 5 of them.

Billie, if you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why? Becoming invisible to steal snacks unseen? Running super fast, so you never need to be on a leash?

Driving a car! The freedom to always visit my favourite places and experience new adventures every day, without having to wait for my dog mom and dog dad. Get in, turn the key, turn on the radio with my favourite dog music, and drive to that lovely sandy coastline with my ears flapping in the wind.

Patty, what does an average day with Billie look like? Take us through your daily routine.

No day is dull with Billie. As soon as you open your eyes in the morning, she’s already there, wagging her tail with her happy face. Mornings are always a calm start, complete with a good breakfast for all pets. Later in the morning, we go for a nice walk, and around lunchtime, weather permitting, we make time for some outdoor games. Billie loves playing with the ball and running around, which usually ends in a hilarious chase where she pretends to be the fastest dog in the world. Around five o’clock, I always call out, ‘Dinner time’. Billie sprints to her bed and waits there impatiently but well-behaved. Once the food is ready, she comes storming in like a tornado! In the evening, we take one final long walk. Afterwards, we enjoy the evening together, whether it’s cuddling on the couch or having a spontaneous race through the house; it’s always cosy and full of surprises.

What’s Billie’s favourite activity, and what makes her truly happy? Is it playing with a ball? Digging in the sand? Or maybe an extensive belly rub?

Billie’s ultimate happiness is definitely at the beach! Unfortunately, we don’t live nearby, but when we’re there, she goes all out. She sprints around like a whirlwind, enthusiastically chases the waves, and has the time of her life with other dogs. For Billie, I think the beach is paradise on earth.

What’s the most special moment you’ve experienced together? Has Billie ever surprised you or helped you in a special way? Every day with Billie is full of surprises.

One of the special moments was when I was sad. Billie came and quietly sat next to me, leaning against me. It was as if she sensed exactly what was going on. It’s special, isn’t it? How special your relationship with your pet can be.

Imagine Billie could talk. What would she say?

Billie would undoubtedly have an endless stream of words if she could talk. She would probably start with: “Can we go for a walk now?” Then she would say: “Oh, and can I have a treat and some cuddles?”

Finally, Billie, what’s your ultimate life motto? As a dog, you must live by a certain philosophy.

C’est la vie!” Living in the moment and enjoying every day to the fullest. Every day is a new adventure, and Billie embraces it wholeheartedly.
